GLADD Community has officially launched this summer, bringing together more than 15 grief coaches from around the world to offer daily support, live classes, and workshops for people navigating life after the death of a loved one.
Grief can be one of the most isolating experiences a person ever faces. After the loss of a spouse, parent, child, sibling, friend, or beloved family member, many people find themselves surrounded by sympathy in the early days, but without steady support in the weeks, months, and years that follow.
GLADD Community was created to help fill that gap. A local Non-Profit based in Sarasota, Florida, founded by Christa McDonald, an author and RN.
Launched this summer, GLADD Community is a new online support platform offering a full spectrum of grief coaching courses, daily live classes, group conversations, workshops, and healing-centered events for individuals and families struggling with loss.
The platform brings together over 15 grief coaches, facilitators, and support professionals from around the world, creating a compassionate space where people can find guidance, connection, and practical tools as they move through the grieving process.
“Grief is not something people should have to carry alone,” said Christa McDonald, Founder of GLADD Community. “Our mission is to create a place where people can be met with compassion, supported by experienced coaches, and reminded that healing does not mean forgetting. It means learning how to live with love, memory, and hope.”
GLADD Community’s daily schedule includes live events, coaching sessions, workshops, reflective practices, and specialized support groups designed for different types of loss. The platform offers classes for those grieving a spouse, parent, child, friend, or family member, along with programs focused on emotional wellness, spiritual healing, breathwork, restorative practices, men’s grief support, Spanish-language grief support, and community conversation.
Kristina Perez, COO of GLADD Community, also shared, “We are excited to offer what we believe is the first international bereavement hotline. This free hotline is available 24/7 for anyone in need of grief support, no matter where they are in the world.”
Those seeking support can call or text 1-844-42-GLADD.
Perez also highlighted GLADD Community’s Dreams Come True Program, adding, “We also offer the Dreams Come True Program, which provides 50 families with $8,000 a year toward end-of-life care.”
Rather than offering one single path through grief, GLADD Community recognizes that every loss is different and every person grieves in their own way. Some members may want quiet reflection. Others may need education, conversation, spiritual support, or a safe place to hear from others who understand.
The community’s coaches bring a wide range of experience and backgrounds, including grief coaching, trauma-informed care, emotional wellness, resilience coaching, spiritual support, movement-based healing, breathwork, meditation, and group facilitation. Together, they provide a broad support system for people at many different stages of grief.
For those who feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or unsure of how to move forward, GLADD Community offers daily access to people and programs designed to help.
The platform’s live classes and workshops are especially important because grief often changes from day to day. A person may feel strong one morning and completely undone by the evening. By offering daily opportunities for support, GLADD Community gives members a place to return to whenever they need guidance, connection, or simply a reminder that they are not alone.
Courses and live events are designed to meet people with warmth and respect, without pressure to “move on” or grieve in a certain way. Members can participate actively, listen quietly, join group discussions, or explore classes that match their current needs.
At its core, GLADD Community is built around the belief that grief support should be accessible, compassionate, and ongoing.
The death of a loved one changes a person’s life. GLADD Community exists to walk alongside people as they learn how to carry that loss, honor their loved one, and continue building a life with meaning.
For anyone struggling with grief this summer, GLADD Community offers a place to begin again — not by leaving love behind, but by finding support in how to carry it forward.
For those interested in supporting GLADD’s mission, donations help the organization continue expanding access to grief support, live programming, and compassionate resources for people navigating loss.
