New Publix in Bradenton Set to Open October 22 at SeaFlower Village Center
Publix Super Markets is expanding its presence in Manatee County with a new 50,325-square-foot grocery store scheduled to open Thursday, October 22, 2026, at SeaFlower Village Center in West Bradenton.
Located at 7535 Cortez Road West, the new Publix will serve as the first major retail opening within the developing SeaFlower community, bringing additional grocery options to residents along the Cortez Road corridor.
The opening represents another milestone for the Lakeland-based grocery chain as it continues investing in new stores throughout Florida.
New Publix Features Modern Store Design
The 50,325-square-foot supermarket will feature Publix’s updated store layout, designed to improve customer convenience and accommodate growing demand for online grocery pickup and delivery.
The location will include expanded bakery and deli departments, a drive-through pharmacy and an adjacent Publix Liquors store.
The new supermarket is expected to serve surrounding neighborhoods, nearby businesses and future residents of the expanding SeaFlower development.
SeaFlower Village Center Brings New Retail Development to Bradenton
The new Publix will anchor SeaFlower Village Center, a major retail development along Cortez Road West near 75th Street West.
The approximately 33-acre commercial development is planned to include roughly 107,000 square feet of retail space, with additional opportunities for restaurants, service businesses and freestanding commercial users.
Plans for the commercial property also identify 11 retail outparcels, a proposed 130-room hotel and 362 multifamily apartments.
The retail center is part of the larger SeaFlower master-planned community, which is approved for up to approximately 4,600 homes.
As residential construction progresses, the Publix-anchored center is expected to become an important shopping destination for the growing West Bradenton area.
Grocery-Anchored Retail Continues to Attract Investment
The new Publix opening highlights continued demand for grocery-anchored commercial development throughout Southwest Florida.
Grocery stores are major traffic generators, frequently attracting complementary tenants such as quick-service restaurants, medical providers, banks, fitness operators and neighborhood service businesses.
For commercial real estate investors and developers, the SeaFlower project demonstrates how new residential communities can support additional retail development and create opportunities for national tenants seeking expansion.
The Cortez Road corridor also benefits from access to established residential neighborhoods, nearby IMG Academy and coastal destinations including Anna Maria Island.
Publix Continues Growing Across Florida
Publix has remained active in Florida’s grocery market, opening new stores and modernizing existing locations to meet changing consumer demand.
Earlier in 2026, the company opened a 55,701-square-foot supermarket at Northchase Center along State Road 64 East in Bradenton.
The SeaFlower Village Center location represents another investment in Manatee County, where continued residential growth and redevelopment are supporting demand for additional grocery and neighborhood retail services.
Looking Ahead
With the new Publix scheduled to open October 22, SeaFlower Village Center is taking an important step toward becoming a major retail destination in West Bradenton.
As the surrounding SeaFlower community develops, additional retail, restaurant and service-oriented businesses could follow, further strengthening the Cortez Road commercial corridor.
