New Costco Under Construction in Collier County, Bringing 162,700-Square-Foot Store to East Naples

Costco Wholesale is moving forward with construction of its second Collier County location, bringing a new 162,700-square-foot warehouse store to the intersection of Rattlesnake Hammock Road and Collier Boulevard in East Naples.

The major retail development represents another significant investment in Southwest Florida’s growing commercial real estate market, with the new store expected to serve residents throughout Naples, Marco Island and surrounding communities.

Although the project originally targeted a fall 2026 opening, Costco has not announced an official grand opening date.

New Costco Planned at Rattlesnake Hammock Road and Collier Boulevard

The new Costco is being developed on approximately 26 acres at the southeast corner of Rattlesnake Hammock Road and Collier Boulevard, within the Hacienda Lakes mixed-use development.

The project will include:

  • 162,700+ square feet of warehouse retail space.
  • 816 parking spaces for customers.
  • 12 double-sided fuel pumps, accommodating up to 24 vehicles simultaneously.
  • A freestanding Costco gas station.
  • Convenient access to Collier Boulevard and surrounding residential communities.

The property is located along one of East Naples’ major commercial corridors, providing access to growing residential neighborhoods and nearby retail developments.

Collier County commissioners unanimously approved the project in October 2025, allowing Costco to move forward with its development plans.

Following approval, Costco purchased the property for approximately $19.39 million on October 21, 2025.

Construction Progresses as Opening Date Remains Unconfirmed

Construction activity has accelerated at the East Naples site, with recent reports indicating that concrete work is underway and portions of the building’s exterior walls have begun taking shape.

The retailer originally anticipated opening the warehouse in fall 2026. However, construction remains ongoing, and no official opening date has been confirmed.

Costco typically announces new warehouse openings closer to their completion dates, often two to three months before opening.

The new location will become Collier County’s second Costco warehouse, joining the existing store at 6275 Naples Boulevard in North Naples, which opened in 1999.

The additional warehouse is expected to provide another shopping option for residents of southern Collier County who currently travel farther north for Costco products and services.

Hacienda Lakes Continues Attracting Major Development

The new Costco will be located within the larger Hacienda Lakes master-planned development, which encompasses approximately 2,262 acres in East Naples.

The community includes residential neighborhoods, commercial development areas and land designated for future mixed-use development.

Surrounding residential communities, including Esplanade at Hacienda Lakes and other developments along Collier Boulevard, have contributed to the area’s expanding population and demand for neighborhood-serving retail.

Costco’s arrival represents a major commercial investment that could strengthen the corridor’s position as a regional shopping destination.

During the approval process, nearby residents raised concerns regarding traffic, drainage and pedestrian safety. Costco subsequently reached an agreement with the neighboring Hacienda Lakes community involving additional pedestrian safety measures and landscaping improvements.

What the New Costco Means for Commercial Real Estate

The development highlights continued demand for large-format retail properties throughout Southwest Florida.

Costco warehouses serve as significant regional traffic generators, attracting shoppers from a broad geographic area and potentially benefiting surrounding commercial properties.

For commercial real estate investors and developers, the new warehouse could create opportunities for complementary retail uses, including quick-service restaurants, medical offices, financial institutions and service-oriented businesses.

The project also demonstrates the value of well-located commercial land with strong roadway access, growing residential density and sufficient acreage to accommodate national big-box retailers.

With approximately $19.39 million invested in the land acquisition alone, the development represents a substantial commitment to the East Naples market.

Looking Ahead

The new East Naples Costco is expected to become a major retail destination for southern Collier County once construction is completed.

While an official opening date has not been announced, the project continues progressing along the Rattlesnake Hammock Road and Collier Boulevard corridor.

As residential development continues throughout Naples and surrounding communities, additional national retailers may evaluate opportunities to expand within the region.
